YAMAHA MT 07 [2014-2021] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in motorcycle technology. This state-of-the-art chain is characterized by its innovative Z-ring technology and High Performance Endurance (HPE) properties, which eliminate the need for regular relubrication that would otherwise be required every 1,000 km. This results in significant time and cost savings for the driver.

Extensive tests in the laboratory and on the road have proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. Another outstanding feature of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the chain's bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance and longevity. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and the elimination of lubricant splashes during operation minimizes environmental impact. These technological advances were made possible through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
