Comprehensive GR86 conversion styled after classic G/S models

The GR86 Conversion Kit transforms the BMW R 1200 GS into a distinctive interpretation of classic G/S and PD motorcycles without permanently modifying the original parts. Together, the replacement components are 6,4 kg lighter than the standard parts they replace. The manufacturer specifies an installation time of approximately four hours; the original configuration can be restored later.

• Quickly removable right tank cover for access to the air filter
• Rear tank bracket with a slot for attaching a tank bag
• Black synthetic-leather seat with high-frequency-embossed seating surfaces and hand-finished side stitching with cotton thread
• Seat frame for the original mounting points; the lock and vehicle key are retained
• Lightweight side panels with R 120 G/S graphics, mounting hardware, rubber parts, screws, and transparent protective film for the frame

Front, Lighting, and Cockpit Mount

• Red front fender with lines styled after the 1980s GS; this red version is intended exclusively for low installation in the original position

Frame, Protection, and Cooling System

• Crash bars and engine guard made from powder-coated steel, including spacer bushings and screws

• Powder-coated steel oil-cooler bracket that also serves as a cooler guard

Installation Notes

Some fasteners and rubber parts are transferred from the original motorcycle. To join the two tank covers, the three upper original clips must be used together with the supplied M5 button-head screws. The original pointed M5 screws must not be used at this point, as they may damage the tank. The rubber parts from the original cockpit frame are also reused to mount the instrument panel.

Compatibility

The kit is designed for BMW R 1200 GS models from model years 2004 to 2012 and is available in versions for 2004–2007 and 2008–2012. On the Adventure model, installation is possible only if the original plastic tank is replaced with the original plastic tank from the R 1200 GS model. Individual original emblems are not included in the kit and must be transferred from the motorcycle or obtained separately.
