The Paris-Dakar has always been more than just a competition. “Obiettivo Dakar” traces the African beginnings of the legendary race and tells of the people, motorcycles, difficulties and special moments that shaped its legend.

A book about the early Dakar years

Colors, sponsors and distinctive graphics made the Dakar motorcycles of the time icons. The book collects some of these stories and adventures and follows the routes of Thierry Sabine's race through the stories of eight participants who experienced both the challenges and the beauty of the event.

One of the protagonists represented in the book is Fabio Marcaccini from Unit Garage. His experiences at the Dakar and later rallies also influenced ideas that gave rise to Unit Garage products.
