BENELLI 502 [2019-2021] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-ring chain with rivet link sets new standards in motorcycle technology. This innovative chain features revolutionary technology that eliminates the need for regular lubrication every 1,000 km. This offers motorcyclists significant time and maintenance savings.

Extensive tests in the laboratory and on the road have proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. A special feature of this chain is the coating with tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced forms of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the chain's bushings and rollers and results in a reduction in energy losses and increased efficiency in secondary transmission.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and lubricant spraying during operation minimizes environmental impact. The development of this innovative coating process was carried out through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
