HONDA VFR 800 [2014-2021] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring Chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in motorcycle chain performance and durability. Thanks to its innovative technology, this highly developed chain no longer requires regular relubrication, which was previously required every 1,000 km. This offers motorcyclists significant time and cost savings as well as improved usability.

Extensive tests both in the laboratory and on the road have proven that the durability of the HPE chain is at least as high, if not higher, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. The key component of this superior performance is the Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C) coating, one of the most advanced forms of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the chain's bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The extremely hard surface of the coating combined with a low coefficient of friction results in reduced wear and increased service life. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and lubricant use helps minimize environmental impact. This technological innovation was made possible through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
