BMW F 900 XR [2020-2021] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring Chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in motorcycle chain performance and durability. This innovative chain does not require regular relubrication, which makes it particularly low-maintenance. Motorcyclists benefit from significant time savings as the usual lubrication every 1,000 km is no longer necessary.

Extensive laboratory and road tests have proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. A special feature of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings in the field of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) technologies. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and ensures a reduction in energy losses and an increase in efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction leads to optimized performance. Additionally, the elimination of chain cleaning and lubricant splash during operation minimizes environmental impact. This technological innovation was made possible by the intensive research and development work of Regina engineers in Italy.
